Minor drowned during church baptisms in Ahuachapán

The victim was identified as 17-year-old Nery G.

A minor died today on the day of the baptism in a church on the Paz River, in the San Francisco Menéndez Congregation, in the department of Ahuachapán.

Its tributary is the same one that serves as the natural border with El Salvador and Guatemala, passing under the border bridge of the canton of La Hachadura.

The victim was identified as 17-year-old Nery G.

Information from local media shows that the young man broke away from the group of parishioners, plunged into the river and was then carried away by a current.

Images showed the corpse of the young man, wearing brown pants and a white shirt with red stripes, on the river bank.
