Minnesota Wild’s Zach Parise scrambled for Vegas Golden Knights rematch – The Athletic

LAS VEGAS – There was some pretty daring line-up development on Wednesday at the Minnesota Wild’s morning skate at T-Mobile Arena.

In repercussion for his overloaded shift when the Vegas Golden Knights tied Monday-night’s game with an extra forward, Zach Parise will not play in Wednesday-night’s rematch. Aside from resting for the playoffs, Parise will be a healthy scratch for the first time in his Wild career and only the second time in his 16-year NHL career.

While Parise skated with the taxi crew and followed the rest of his teammates who left the ice, coach Dean Evason didn’t want to go into details about why Parise was sitting, only to say the decision was made as a staff. But a disappointed Parise confirmed that he was told at a meeting on Tuesday that it is because of his last shift.

“And I don’t agree with the decision,” said Parise.
