Minister María Chichilco was hospitalized after presenting complications from COVID-19 | News from El Salvador

The information was revealed by a candidate for party deputy in the government, who indicated that the official is in a “recovery phase”.

The Minister of Local Development, Ofelia Navarrete, better known as María Chichilco, is admitted to Hospital El Salvador due to complications from COVID-19.

The information was revealed on Twitter by La Libertad deputy candidate of the New Ideas party, Walter Alemán. He added that the official would be in a “recovery phase” after presenting a photo of COVID-19.

On December 24, the candidate published a photo of Chichilco being seen surrounded by medical personnel from said hospital in what would be hours before Christmas Eve.

Other government officials also confirmed that the minister has been admitted to a medical center and wished her a speedy recovery through social networks.

It is currently not known from which date the officer was admitted to hospital.

However, in Chichilco’s official reports on social networks, an activity in Ciudad Credisa, Soyapango, on December 15, is recorded as his last public appearance, where he provided a sports complex to young people.
