Milly Quezada explains that she has not received any money from the government to give concerts

Artist Milly Quezada clarified that she was not receiving money from the Social Policy Cabinet to hold Christmas parties in the month of December of last year 2020.

Through her representative, Pedrito Núñez, the prominent merengue interpreter stated that she had been contacted by the Cabinet of Social Policy, but made it a condition to receive the money contractually when giving artistic presentations.

He explained that since there were no contracts or presentations, Quezada never received the money given to other artists by the government as a way to help them cope with the crisis created by the covid -19 pandemic.

The clarification is due to the fact that the name of the popular merenguera was accidentally spread along with other colleagues who did benefit from the aforementioned initiative.

It is recalled that yesterday Monday the General Directorate of Public Procurement (DGCP) suggested identifying and sanctioning the officials responsible for hiring 54 performers by the Cabinet of Social Policy.

Contracts said the due administrative procedure was not being followed, in violation of several principles of Law 340-06 on Public Procurement and Procurement.

The social policy cabinet hired 54 performers at a cost of 55.6 million pesos, who were paid based on violations of tendering rules.
