Millie Bobby Brown is set to star in the upcoming Russo Brothers-led adaptation of the graphic novel The Electric State
It looks like Millie Bobby Brown and The Russo Brothers will intersect soon.
It was announced on Friday that Universal Pictures had bought the rights to the upcoming graphic novel adaptation The Electric State, Deadline said.
The director duo The Avengers: Endgame are set to both direct and produce the feature film under their AGBO production banner.

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who previously collaborated with the brothers on multiple films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will write the screenplay for the project.
The production is based on the 2018 graphic novel, which was written and illustrated by Simon Stalenhag.
The brothers first acquired the production rights to the property in 2017, and It director Andy Muschietti was scheduled to direct the film but had to drop out due to other commitments; he will still serve as a producer, along with his sister Barbara.
The 16-year-old actress is set to portray a teenage girl who is sent a robot by her missing brother and embarks on the adventure underscored by the unraveling of a conspiracy.

While the story features the involvement of robot characters, Markus noted that the film will still have a decidedly human bent, saying, ‘This is a very human story about a teenage girl with all the powers of a teenage girl and nothing more. ‘
The Russos issued a statement about Universal’s commitment to theatrical release, stating that, “This is incredible news for us as filmmakers and for viewers around the world who want a chance to experience films in theaters again.”
The film team also spoke of the resurgence of movie theaters as a result of ongoing efforts to combat COVID-19, as they noted, “This is also a positive sign that, as vaccines become available, the theatrical market is returning.”
With both the Russos and the Brown already packed, the film is not expected to go into production until late 2021 at the earliest.

The brothers will direct the upcoming film adaptation of the 2009 thriller novel The Gray Man, written by Mark Grearney.
Ana de Armas, Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling will all appear in the project and production will begin next month.
Brown’s future projects include filming the upcoming fourth season of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, which restarted production in September after the start of the pandemic, halting the shooting.
She will also star as an executive producer of the fantasy film Damsel, which will also appear on the streaming service.
