She was admitted to the Marine Hospital from April 6 to 28, I entered in a critical, serious condition, in danger of life. Photo: Secret Nature.
“I had a cough, fever, a lot of shortness of breath and decay, and when I had an emergency screening at the outpatient clinic, I got bronchopneumonia in both lungs. I was immediately ill, as if I passed out. To be fair, when they put me in the ambulance, which had already been sent to the Navy (Hospital Militar Central Luis Díaz Soto), I looked at my husband and said, Robert, I’m dying. For him this was a big blow, it had a big impact and also for my mother.
The nurse who was in the ambulance with me behaved me very well, he told me: You’re not going to die, breathe, immediately they gave me oxygen in the ambulance and they ran to the hospital. When they arrived I heard the nurse say: This patient is going to therapy, I don’t know what they told him, but he replied, I’m going to take her to therapy, until I put her in therapy, I’m not leaving here.
I realized they were running to therapy with me on the gurney, I saw the windows, I saw in the distance like a doctor, I closed my eyes and didn’t open them again. ANDI was admitted to Naval Hospital from April 6-28, entered a critical, serious, life-threatening condition, there I was in therapy from the moment I entered until I left the hospital. I was intubated for 18 days, the doctors did not count on me because I did not respond to the drugs, which was affected by my illnesses, one of them is Cushing’s syndrome, I also have hypertension, type 2 diabetic mellitus.
During the time I was in a coma, I felt nothing, nothing or what they were doing to me. After 18 days of being intubated that I was not responding, they took me to the salon and did the tracheostomy and then I came to respond. I had a strange dream that it was something fashionable, something was turning and there were a lot of beautiful dresses in all colors and they told me you have to wear white and I would wear purple and see blue and finally I opened my eyes and the first thing i said was water. A nurse told me, calm, calm, that everything is okay.
The first thing I asked the doctor: how is my family? I live with my mother, my 93-year-old grandmother, my husband and my uncle. Thank goodness they didn’t get the virus. That has relieved me enormously.
Dr. Beatriz used to say to me, Mileidys, the truth is, you are a warrior, you are very strong, but I didn’t know why she said that to me. Dr. Rafael always came in, they all came by and said: Mileidys, many people called you, there are many people who love you. They asked me about Robertón, who is my husband. Then I started: I’m hungry, give me yogurt. They say that since I responded, I started asking for food.
This was very sad, unpleasant, something that I will never forget. I want to ask everyone to take care of themselves because this is a very bad, very unpleasant and very sad experience. You have to be very careful and follow all the rules provided to avoid contracting this virus as it is very difficult for the person who catches it as well as for the family who are affected and the doctors who are not used to losing someone . , they always want to save all lives. But still, when you come out of this, you still have what happened in your head and you are afraid of relapse, of relapse.
I want to thank the group of nurses, almost all of them were men, and they were always with me to support me, they encouraged me a lot, I especially want to thank the nurse Ernesto Rivera who was with me the whole time, as I said, he never let go of my hand, and the nurse Alexei, who were the two most with me during my stay; but also to the others, to all those who were with me in one way or another, and I thank the entire management of the Naval Hospital.
To all his doctors and in this case I have to say a big thank you to the therapy doctors who were with me, I would like to mention their names as I thank them for being alive: Dr. Beatriz Santiesteban, Daniela Olivo, Ariadna Sánchez, Rafael Venegas Rodríguez (head of therapy, he called me Queen Mileydis), Raúl Santana Sánchez, Pedro Aroche Díaz and Rubén Peña Ruiz. Every day I thank you for saving my life because I have been genuinely born again, I thank Cuban medicine, all scientists, the government of Cuba who supported us, to me I am an achievement, a miracle of Cuban medicine ”.
