Mike Vick says the Eagles must be close to Jalen Hurts

The Jalen Hurts-Carson Wentz debate is all the rage in Philadelphia, so it’s only right that another former eagle quarterback on the position weighs in on the future.

Vick, who played with the Eagles for five seasons, was a guest of Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED on FS1 and commented on Hurts’ performance in the past 2.5 games.

“When you look at a man like Jalen Hurts and his skills and what he brings to the table, you automatically start thinking about the future, building around him and how the crime can potentially progress and what you can put into it” , said Vick. “I know when I think that way, Doug Pederson must think the same.”

The Eagles do it week after week with Hurts, but the rookie comes out of a performance that saw him become the first signal-caller in franchise history to score a total of 4 touchdowns as a rookie.

Hurts will have the game against Dallas on Sunday and against the Washington Football Team the following week, arguing for the Eagles to be that starting quarterback going forward.

For Vick, it’s all about having the right man down center and it sounds like he believes Hurts is giving the Eagles the best chance of success.

“You can’t win if you don’t have the right man behind the middle,” said Vick. Not to say Carson wasn’t the right guy, but it was starting to look like the paint was just drying a little bit on the wall. Philadelphia Eagles fans probably feel like they need something new. I know they feel that way and they don’t give you too much time out there.
