Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow, “begs for a charge,” says Dominion

That could bring him to court, just like the right-wing media operations that once made the same allegations.

“Mike Lindell is begging to be taken to court, and at some point, we may well oblige him,” Michael Steel, spokesman for Dominion Voting Systems, told CNN’s Chief Media Correspondent Brian Stelter on “Reliable Sources” Sunday.

Dominion and rival technology company Smartmatic have filed lawsuits against various right-wing media companies and personalities. That has led conservative media companies to make substantial changes to their reporting, including on-air corrections about the role of electronic voting systems in the 2020 elections and a near halt to discussion on the topic. Fox Business recently announced that it has removed the top rated Lou Dobbs from its range. Dobbs was one of Fox’s biggest promoters of voter fraud conspiracy theories.

That left Lindell, an avid Trump supporter whose company is a prominent advertiser on conservative media, to take up the mantle. Lindell paid OAN to broadcast a documentary on Friday that was full of falsehoods about irregular voting. OAN posted a disclaimer prior to the paid segment noting that it did not endorse the views Lindell was embracing.

Lindell went on rival Newsmax last week to promote his documentary, and anchor Bob Sellers repeatedly tried to cut off Lindell when he started discussing some of the false allegations.

“We all have electoral fraud with these Dominion machines,” Lindell said during the interview. “We have 100% proof.”

Vendors quickly intervened, reading a statement saying, “While there was clear evidence of some instances of voter fraud and electoral irregularities, the election results were certified in every state and Newsmax accepts the results as legal and final. It also supported that view.”

Dominion has sent Lindell a letter warning that a lawsuit is “imminent”. The president of the pillow company told CNN Chief White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins last month that he applauds a Dominion lawsuit and has “100% evidence.”

Although Dominion and Smartmatic did not cooperate in their respective lawsuits, Steel said, “I think we share the same goal, which is to tell the truth and the facts to the American people.”

Lindell, meanwhile, was banned from Twitter for spreading falsehoods about the election. Shortly after his personal account was banned, MyPillow’s Twitter account was permanently banned from the social media platform. Several companies that sold MyPillow, including Kohl’s and Bed Bath & Beyond, have pulled MyPillow products off their shelves.

MyPillow CEO told former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon on Bannon’s podcast Saturday that he is planning his own lawsuit against Smartmatic and Dominion.

Of that lawsuit, Steel said, “ I think he is trying to pre-empt himself spreading disinformation, spreading lies, and this latest citationless documentary that he aired is nothing but the same old half-baked conspiracy theories repackaged – – and the truth catches up with him. “
