Miguel Romero tests positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus

San Juan Mayor Miguel Romero tested positive for the COVID-19 corona virus.

The information was confirmed by the Mayor and Aldermen that indicated that it tested positive after performing an antigen test.

“Today, as part of preparations to take my daughter to her university, I took a test for the COVID-19 virus antigens, which gave a positive result for the presence of virus proteins. Later I did a test ( PCR) test to confirm the result. I am currently isolated and waiting for the results of the PCR test. At the moment I have no symptoms, both my wife and daughter had a negative result in the test they took today , ‘the mayor said in written statements.

Currently, a total of 87,665 accumulated positive cases of the virus and 1,846 related deaths have been reported in Puerto Rico. Of that total, 12,564 cases have been reported in the municipality of San Juan with 14.8%.

Yesterday, Romero announced that the municipality is joining the Department of Health tracking system.

Last weekend, the San Sebastián Street Festivities were celebrated to a limited extent due to COVID.
