Michelle Branch said she recently had a miscarriage.
The 37-year-old singer and songwriter revealed the heartbreaking details on Instagram with her 136,000 followers.

Despite her tragic loss, Branch noted that she and her family had gone forward to try to celebrate the holidays.
“But unfortunately, between crying and binge-eating Christmas cookies, I decided to put on lipstick and a dress. We drank champagne all day. Cooked an incredible meal and sang Christmas carols that sat by a roaring fire, ”she wrote alongside photos showing her spending time with her husband, Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney, and her sister Nicole and two children.
As she counted down the days to the new year, Branch said she was “limping to the finish.”
But she made sure to add that her family has helped her get through the challenges of 2020.
“These people, my dear family, my husband, sister and children have been the MVPs,” Branch wrote. “I couldn’t imagine being isolated with anyone else for a year. Happy Christmas everyone. “
Branch is a mother to her 15-year-old daughter Owen Isabelle Landau, whom she shares with ex-husband Teddy Landau.
In August 2018, the Grammy winner gave birth to son Rhys James Carney with her husband.
Branch and her family live in Nashville, Tennessee, where a motor home exploded Friday, injuring three people.
