Restrictions to cross the border between Mexico and the United States due to the coronavirus pandemic will continue until March 21, the State Department reported.
On Twitter, the agency indicated that due to the pandemic situation in the country, where several states are on the red, a request had been made to the US government to extend the deadline for applying these measures, which was accepted.
The restrictions remain in the same terms as they have been developed since their implementation on March 21, 2020.
“Both countries will coordinate health measures in the border region that will be in effect until 11:59 pm on March 21, 2021,” the tweet said.

As of last year, authorities in the United States and Mexico have agreed that only people with essentials cross the border by land, so other types of travel are prohibited.
