Mexicans arrive to work on island farms due to a lack of labor

Faced with the labor shortage to work in Puerto Rico’s agricultural sector, a group of Mexicans came to the island to fill this void.

This was reported by the Consulate General of Mexico in Puerto Rico, who, in a publication on their social networks, celebrated the arrival of those who “will grow the food that will go to the table of thousands of Puerto Ricans.”

We recommend that you:

“This group of Mexicans from Las Margaritas, Chiapas, traveled to Puerto Rico to work on farms in the Guánica area,” part of the publication reads accompanied by photographs of the group.

To make sure that it fills them with pride, it was added to the message that “the Mexican people are distinguished by being people of the work”.
