Melissa McCarthy sports blonde wig with husband Ben Falcone on the set of Netflix’s God’s Favorite Idiot

Melissa McCarthy has stayed in Australia with her family since filming Nicole Kidman’s Hulu miniseries Nine Perfect Strangers in New South Wales in 2020.

She and husband Ben Falcone revealed in February that they had chosen to extend their stay Down Under to shoot the Netflix series God’s Favorite Idiot in the country.

On Wednesday, the Hollywood couple saw movie scenes for the upcoming comedy in Lismore, 28 miles west of Byron Bay.

God’s Favorite Idiot is a work comedy about a mid-level tech support worker Clark Thompson (Falcone) who finds love with fellow Amily Luck (McCarthy) at the very same time he becomes God’s ignorant messenger.

The bridesmaid star, 50, looked almost unrecognizable in a blonde wig as she prepared for scenes in a lush garden.

Despite the warmer summer temperatures in Australia, Melissa wore a burgundy trench coat.

For the scene, she also wore black pants with a pattern-matched blouse with a bow in it.

Melissa’s character appears to be wearing glasses, while the actress wears a stylish frame with square lenses when ‘action’ was mentioned.

Earlier this month, Melissa filmed scenes for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder in Sydney’s Little Bay.

Melissa, 50, was seen clucking wearing a huge green headgear to transform into Hela, who was originally played by Cate Blanchett in Thor: Ragnarok, but she didn’t replace Cate, instead playing Fake Hela.

She is believed to have landed the role after shooting a hilarious Instagram audition tape with husband Ben Falcone on Christmas Day.

‘Melissa and I are desperate to star in the movie Thor: Love and Thunder,’ Ben began, as the pair insisted they would be great ‘local collaborators’ being based in Byron Bay – Thor ran Chris’ hometown Hemsworth.
