Meghan Markle is going on maternity leave at the end of May, Page Six is told.
The Duchess of Sussex, who is expecting a daughter in the early summer, plans to take time off after the birth of her daughter, as we revealed.
Markle is retiring from her work at Archewell, her nonprofit with husband Prince Harry, and all other professional endeavors. However, we are told that she always keeps an eye on everything because she is a ‘workaholic’.
A source who knows her told us that she worked with son Archie on her last maternity leave before giving birth in May 2019.
She managed to guest edit the British Vogue “Changemakers” edition and complete the capsule wardrobe for the Smart Works charity, of which she was patron.
“She’s not stopping,” said a source who knows her.
Markle, 39, has stayed home in California, while Harry, 36, flew to the UK for the funeral of his grandfather Prince Philip on Saturday.
She was desperate to support him, but despite her “ doing everything possible, ” Markle – who spoke of her broken heart after a miscarriage last summer – was denied medical clearance to make the 12-hour flight.
Harry is now in quarantine at their UK home, Frogmore Cottage, on the Queen’s Windsor estate, where he is reunited with his cousin, Princess Eugenie, who currently lives on the property with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, and their newborn son, August.
