Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, filed a formal complaint with the British broadcaster about Piers Morgan’s comments

ITV announced on Tuesday that Morgan would be leaving the program it hosted, “Good Morning Britain,” after doubting Meghan’s suicidal thoughts, a major revelation from her blockbuster interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“After discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided it is now time to leave Good Morning Britain,” ITV said on Tuesday. “ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing more to add.”

CNN understands that Meghan’s complaint to ITV related to the impact Morgan’s comments could have on others and how this could lessen the severity of mental health problems. The complaint did not relate to the personal nature of Morgan’s attacks.

On the Monday edition of “Good Morning Britain”, Morgan wondered if the Duchess was honest about having suicidal thoughts. His comments sparked huge controversy in Britain, and he was rebuked by the Mind charity.

UK media regulator Ofcom said it had received more than 41,000 complaints about the Monday edition of “Good Morning Britain” and launched an investigation under its “harm and insult rules”.

On Wednesday, Morgan said he “still” doesn’t believe Meghan.

“I have had time to reflect on this opinion, and still not [believe her]Morgan tweeted. If you did, okay. Freedom of speech is a hill I like to die on. Thanks for all the love and hate. I’m going to spend more time on my opinion. “
