Beginning next week, the state plans to set up permanent community vaccination clinics in Minneapolis, Duluth and a location yet to be determined in southern Minnesota.
According to the Minnesota Department of Health, more than 27,000 Minnesota soldiers have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in the past two weeks at nine pop-up community clinics across the state.
Health officials say these community clinics are designed as an addition to primary care providers to expand the rollout of vaccines to people who may not have a doctor or health care provider. However, the state expects most people to get their photos in clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies.
So far, Minnesota has administered 531,048 COVID-19 vaccines, including 159,190 in the past week. A total of 111,715 Minnesota completed the vaccine series with two shots.
