“Today we write with respect to ask for your continued support to the COVID-19 Community Vaccination Center (CVC) at NRG Park in Harris County. In late February, and has helped reduce racial and geographic disparities in vaccine distribution in Harris County and the City of Houston. Its continued operation is critical to getting residents of Harris County and the City of Houston vaccinated as soon as possible, “the joint publication said.
The clinic, which started on February 24, would be on site for six weeks. Now Turner and Hidalgo are asking for continued support until at least May 31, 2021.
Before the clinic opened, organizers said the federal site would vaccinate at least 126,000 people. The mega site should greatly increase the chances of a quick withdrawal.
According to Turner and Hidalgo’s request, as of March 21, 12.1% of Harris County’s population – ages 16 and older – has been fully vaccinated.

Before the site’s launch, Judge Hidalgo said individuals 65 and older on the waiting list who come from the top 10 city and county zip codes would receive top priority for the site’s vaccines.

The next priority group is people 65 and older.
The fourth priority group is those aged 60 to 64 with underlying medical conditions.
FEMA uses the Harris County and City of Houston waiting list. People will be contacted for appointments.
