The 25-year-old son of U.S. Representative Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) Has died, the congressman’s office said Thursday.

Thomas Bloom Raskin, a sophomore at Harvard Law School, was remembered as ‘pure magic’ in a statement from his parents.

“His genius and compassion knew no bounds,” said the legislator and his wife, Sarah Bloom Raskin, of their son.

“He loved his family, friends and animals passionately, and was devoted to the cause of the world’s poor. We are devastated and devastated to be without him. “

The statement did not state any cause or manner of death.

Raskin’s office said the Congressman and his family are “grateful for the outpouring of support and love from neighbors, voters and friends,” but asked everyone to “adhere to strict COVID-19 protocols in this time of grief.”
