Legendary American boxer Marvin Hagler, undisputed middleweight champion between 1980 and 1987, died at the age of 66, his wife reported Saturday, Agence France-Presse reported.

“I am very sorry to have to share this sad news. Today, sadly, my loving husband passed away unexpectedly at his home in New Hampshire. I ask for privacy in this difficult time, ”wrote his wife, Kay G. Hagler.

The most memorable fight was against Tommy Hearns in 1985, known as La Guerra. Hagler managed to capture 62 victories in 67 battles, 52 of which were via the short route.
