Marvel debuts LGBT Captain America character during Pride Month

Marvel Comics revealed its first gay Captain America character this week – and will debut the role in June during Pride Month, according to a report.

The character, Aaron Fischer, will be featured in the upcoming “United States of Captain America” ​​comic miniseries, Entertainment Weekly reported.

In the storyline, Fischer, who protects homeless youth and runaways, is discovered when Steve Rogers and three other characters launch a mission to find Steve’s missing shield, the report said.

“Aaron is inspired by heroes of the queer community: activists, leaders and everyday people striving for a better life,” creator Aaron Trujillo told the outlet.

He represents the oppressed and the forgotten. I hope his debut story will appeal to readers and inspire the next generation of heroes, ”said Trujillo.

Aaron was illustrated by Jan Bazaldua, who told the publication that he is proud to be part of the first of the series.

“As a transgender person, I am happy to present an openly gay person who admires Captain America and fights evil to help those who are nearly invisible to society,” Bazaldua said.

The first issue of the new miniseries will be released on June 2.
