Marjorie Taylor Greene gets spit in the office about the LGBT flag

Congressional neighbors are in an ongoing public feud Thursday, with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene posted a sign outside her Capitol office stating that “there are two genders,” after Rep. Marie Newman hung a transgender flag next to her door to protest Georgia’s republicans opposition to the equality law.

Greene, who was elected in November, posted a video on Wednesday of her putting up the sign that says, “There are TWO genders: male and female, trust science.”

It’s right across the hall from Rep. Newman, who has a transgender daughter.

Newman (D-Ill.) also posted a video of herself on Twitter, in which she hangs a transgender flag.

“Our neighbor, @RepMTG, tried to block the Equality Act because she believes banning discrimination against trans Americans is ‘disgusting, immoral and bad.’ I thought we would put up our transgender flag so she can look at it. every time she opens her door, ”she said in the post.

The two congresswomen have been kidding each other all week amid the equality law debate.

Taylor Greene, who is opposed to the legislation, responded to a tweet from Newman about her speech to the House in support of the bill.

Without the Equality Act, millions of Americans, like my daughter, could be denied housing, education, and more simply because they identify as transgender. I am voting to pass the Equality Act for my daughter – the strongest, bravest person I know, ”said Newman.

The Georgia rep fired on Newman in her own post.

“As mothers, we all love and support our children. But your biological son DOES NOT belong in my daughters’ bathrooms, locker rooms and sports teams, ”she said.

Earlier, Taylor Greene noted that she has introduced a motion “to give every congressman time to rethink destroying #WomensRights and #WomensSports and #ReligiousFreedom before voting for the #EqualityAct!”

Taylor Greene, deprived of her commission duties for voicing QAnon conspiracy theories, also argued with Democratic Representative Ted Lieu over the Equality Act.

Lieu of California took note of her motion to suspend in a tweet addressed to her.

Dear Rep @mtgreenee: Congratulations on your first arbitrary motion to adjourn! Can you feel the power? You may force all members to appear on the floor. The downside, of course, is that it is a waste of time and tax money to vote on stupid, nonsensical motions, ”he said earlier this week.

She hit back.

“I hope that by actually letting you walk up to the room to vote (do your job) that maybe enough blood will flow to your brain to vote NO to the #EqualityAct and NOT destroy #WomensRights and #ReligiousFreedom , ”Said Taylor Greene.

“In the real world, people don’t complain like you.”

The House is expected to vote on the legislation sometime on Thursday, which explicitly extends federal civil rights protection to LGBTQ Americans.
