Maripily reveals to have been a victim of violence by her ex-partner

Model and businesswoman Maripily Rivera revealed that she was the victim of gender violence from her ex-partner, who she met in Los Angeles and was in a six-month relationship.

According to an interview with the businesswoman with People en Español magazine, there were three violent incidents with the Pakistani constructor: during a visit to the home of Maripily’s sister; a month ago, at a beach house in Puerto Rico, and – which was the trigger – at the businesswoman’s apartment in Miami last Friday.

The abuse, Maripily explains, was both verbal and physical. “He laughed at me, how I talked, said my friends were crazy. He told me crazy. That we Latinos can’t talk, ”he told the magazine.

But last Friday, the aggression was physical.

“I talked to him and told him we had to break up and I would give him a few days to find where to go and everything started because he went drinking on Friday and got drunk and started yelling at me as soon as he entered. (He told me) that my son had to apologize to him because at one point (when he made me violent), my son Joe Joe was at the house and he told him to leave the house and he told me my son had him to apologize and he was crazy. (I told him) “You don’t respect my son, don’t talk about my son. And if I’m crazy then you go now, you’ll have to leave my house, if not I’ll call the police to get you out. ‘

Maripily says that while she was packing her bags, he grabbed her by the neck and threw her on the floor. “I fell into my son’s bed and to protect my head and not break my neck on the wood in the corner, I hit my ribs. When he saw me lying on the floor, he was shocked and left the house ”. So he called the police and filed a complaint.

‘I don’t know how it could take me so long. Loneliness leads you here. Today I think, “My God, why have I put up with so much, why is my self-esteem so low” … I am strong and it has been very difficult for me. I resume my meetings quietly. I can’t let myself fall. I have my shrink, my best friend’s husband, who I talk to a lot. Yesterday I had nightmares with this event, I have my sad moments, but I have to get up and continue my routine, ”he said.
