Yesterday Westworld‘s Evan Rachel Wood publicly claimed that singer Marilyn Manson (aka Brian Warner) abused her in a previous relationship. As more women have emerged, Starz and AMC have announced an immediate termination of their relationship with Manson in regards to TV series American gods and Scary show.
Manson had already been dropped by music label Loma Vista Records in the aftermath of Wood’s Instagram post Monday, stating that Manson “ horribly assaulted her ” during their relationship and that she was “ brainwashed and manipulated into submission. ” Today, the Hollywood Reporter also confirmed that the Creative Artists Agency has dropped Manson as well. After Wood’s broadcast, at least four other women came forward with additional allegations of abuse.

I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission, ”Wood wrote. “I have finished living in fear of retaliation, slander or blackmail. I’m here to expose this dangerous man and name the many industries that made him possible before he ruins more lives. I stand behind the many victims who will no longer be silent. “
Manson (then 38) and Wood (then 19) were found to be in a public relationship back in 2007 and became engaged in 2010, but broke up that same year. While Wood has only now explicitly acknowledged Manson as her alleged abuser, she has previously spoken of her history as a survivor of abuse, including for a US House Judiciary Subcommittee in 2018, as part of a legislative push to create a Bill of Rights of Survivors of Sexual Assault in the entire country.
“My experience with domestic violence is this: toxic physical, mental and sexual abuse that started slowly but escalated over time, including threats to my life, severe gaslighting and brainwashing, waking up to the man who claimed to be mine and raped what he believed was my unconscious body, “Wood said in her statement two years ago. Now that Manson has been named by Wood, both Starz and AMC have also announced their intention to remove the actor-singer from the third and second seasons of American gods and Scary show, respectively. Manson responded to the actress’s allegations stating that “my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are terrible distortions of reality.”

Deadline reports that Starz will remove Manson’s only remaining appearance in American gods‘third season as Johan Wengren, the lead singer of a Viking death metal band called Blood Death – who actually appeared in last night’s already scheduled fourth episode of last night’s season, “The Unseen.”
“Because of the allegations against Marilyn Manson, we have decided to remove his performance from the remaining episode it’s in, scheduled to air later this season, ”the network said in a statement to Deadline and then shared on social media. “Starz is unequivocally behind all victims and survivors of abuse.”
AMC also removes Manson’s upcoming appearances in season two Scary show. Deadline reports that the episode will be pulled, and the Man segmentson was set to appear will be replaced. Neither AMC nor Shudder have publicly responded to the allegations, but when contacted by io9, an AMC spokesperson confirmed that a segment featuring Manson set to appear in the upcoming season would be removed and that it would not air.
