Marilyn Manson has been officially dropped from his record label after facing abuse claims from Evan Rachel Wood and four other women.
In a statement sent to The Hollywood Reporter, Loma Vista Recordings said they will no longer promote Manson’s recent album or work with him on future projects.
In light of today’s troubling allegations by Evan Rachel Wood and other women who name Marilyn Manson as their abuser, Loma Vista will immediately stop promoting his current album. Prior to the announcement, Manson’s artist page had been removed from Loma Vista’s website, Billboard reported earlier on Monday.
The label’s decision comes after Wood shared an Instagram post on Monday accusing Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, of “horribly” abusing her for years and saying he started “grooming” her when she was a teenager. . The actress met Manson when she was 18 and he was 36. They were briefly engaged in 2010.
“I’m here to expose this dangerous man and name the many industries that made him possible before he wrecked even more lives. I stand behind the many victims who will no longer be silent,” she wrote. She also stressed that she “finished living in fear of retaliation, slander or blackmail.”
In response to Wood’s social media post, four other women also came forward with similar allegations of abuse against Manson. Wood has shared these accounts on her Instagram Stories.
Manson’s first release via Concord imprint was Loma Vista The pale emperor in 2015. Manson’s previous album, We are chaos, was released on September 11, 2020 and debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200 and number 1 on the Top Rock Albums chart.
The allegations aren’t the first that Manson has dealt with. In May 2018, the musician filed a police report against him for unspecified sex crimes dating back to 2011. Manson’s attorney, Howard E. King, Esq., Denied the claims in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter at the time, saying in part, “The allegations to the police have been and are categorically denied by Mr. Warner and are either completely delusional or part of a deliberate effort to generate publicity … Any claim of sexual inappropriateness or imprisonment on that, or any other time is false. “
