Mariah Carey responds to her vaccination shot as if you thought she could

Mariah Carey hits the high notes again, but not on stage.

The five-time Grammy winner filmed herself getting a COVD-19 vaccine over the weekend – and she screamed when the needle went in (watch the video below).

“Vaccine side effect: G6,” she joked on Instagram regarding the voice range designation.

Carey revealed beforehand that she was nervous and admitted that she was distracting the medical professionals who administered the shot.

She let out a Yiddish “oy” before the needle pierced her skin. Then she screamed and then clapped with relief.

“Do it if you can,” she said. “We are all in this together.”

The “Fantasy” artist said earlier this year that the conclusion of the pandemic would have benefited her career in a way.

“Getting the job done really helped my voice,” she said on a podcast in January. “I think in many ways, you can just be stress-free. And everyone said, ‘Oh, you have to go back to a studio. You have to start singing again. And I’m like, ‘I know.’ ”

More than 61 million Americans are fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Carey has one more chance.
