María Estella Gómez Mullet’s body is being repatriated from the US – Other cities – Colombia


The family of Maria Estela Gómez Mullett, the native wife of Corozal, in Sugar, found dead in the yard of her Boynton Beach home, U.S, the process of repatriating his body will begin to bury it in his city of origin.

“A friend called to tell us she was talking to María Estela and suddenly the communication cut off abruptly, which seemed suspicious, especially when she tried to communicate with her again without success,” he said. Luis Gómez Mullett.

She pointed out that it was that very friend who reported her disappearance.
“We are shocked, we are in a lot of pain because of what happened, we did not expect this and it hurts our soul,” said María Estela’s brother.

He said his other sister who is in Bogota, will travel to U.S to bring the body to Corozal.

“Today we can confirm the discovery of human remains (…) We are conducting a forensic investigation to establish the identity of the person,” preliminary information from police read on Friday, March 5 at 7:39 PM.

Luis, his brother, reported: “The Colombian consulate has contacted us and will help us through this process. All we ask for is justice, that justice be done.”

María Estela Gómez, 45, was a bacteriologist. She had two children and a little over two years ago she had moved to the United States where she worked as a caregiver for an older adult, as confirmed by her relatives.

Relatives said she was divorced from her husband and decided to leave.

According to this newspaper, the older adult that María Estela took care of is the mother of Roberto Colón, the man she married to formalize her immigration status.

This Saturday, authorities reported that they had detained Roberto Colón and charged him with first-degree murder for the death of the Colombian woman, whose body was buried in the courtyard of the man’s house.

However, in an interview with a local media a few days ago, Colón said he did not know María Estella’s whereabouts and even claimed that he could not harm his partner.
