Marc Wilmore, writer of The Simpsons and In Living Color and brother of comedian Larry Wilmore, dies at the age of 57 after a fight with COVID-19
The comedic work is just a little less funnier today, as they mourn the death of writer Marc Wilmore at the age of 57.
Wilmore’s brother, comedian and The Nightly Show presenter Larry Wilmore confirmed his brother’s death on Twitter Sunday night.
The TV writer has passed away from COVID-19, plus other health problems he suffered from in recent years.

“My dear dear brother, Marc Edward Wilmore, passed away last night fighting COVID and other conditions that had hurt him for years,” Larry said of his brother.
My brother was the nicest, softest, funniest angel I have ever known. I love your little brother, ”Larry concluded.
Marc and Larry were two of five siblings who grew up in San Bernadino County, California in the 1960s.

Marc graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, before embarking on his TV career in the 1990s.
He began his writing career on the TV adaptation of Harry and the Henderson before moving on to the influential Fox comedy series In Living Color.
After his stint with In Living Color, he became a writer for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and then The PJs before writing for The Simpsons in 2002.


Graduated: Marc graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, before embarking on his TV career in the 1990s
He wrote 12 episodes of the long-running animated comedy series Fox between 2002 and 2015.
Wilmore won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animation Program for his work as a producer on Eternal Moonshine of the Simpsons Mind.
After his time with The Simpsons came to an end, he started working as a writer and producer on F is for Family in 2017.

Wilmore was honored by writer Michael Price, with whom he worked on three different TV shows throughout his career.
“Another giant talent taken too soon,” Price began in his tweet tribute to his colleague.
‘I had the privilege of working on 3 shows (PJ’s, Simpsons, FIFF) with Marc Wilmore for most of the past 23 years and he was THE funniest person in every room. And a great man. He is irreplaceable. Rest in peace, my friend, ”he concluded.
