Dr. Víctor Ramos Otero, president of the College of Surgeons of Puerto Rico, said in a radio interview on Wednesday that children returning to Puerto Rico from Disney are infected with Covid-19 and end up in hospital.
Ramos Otero said in a radio interview with Normando Valentín in La Mañana on Notiuno 630 that “schools are a bubble. Only students and staff go there. Unlike other places where you see children up and down. The shopping center (shopping center). You don’t know who is next to you in the mall and you see them running up and down. Restaurants, from table to table ”.

“And most of all, what scares me the most is that they’ve hospitalized a lot of kids who come from Disney” who are infected with Covid-19, said Ramos Otero, who specializes in pediatrics.
“I recommended restarting last year’s classes. The federal government has made a donation to state governments and donated millions of masks to the educational system of Puerto Rico that are available to be distributed to all students, ”said the president of the College of Surgeons of Puerto Rico.
On the other hand, Ramos Otero assured that the mental health department of the children’s hospital is full of minors, many of them students of the special education program of the Ministry of Education.
“The mental health unit has been full since the start of the pandemic, like never before. Children who need structure, eg autistic children, have to go back to face-to-face classes but with all safety precautions, ”said the doctor.
