Major upcoming game confirmed as exclusive

Xbox Series X has picked up yet another major exclusive game, or more specifically another major and upcoming game has been confirmed as an Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S console exclusive. Last July, developer GSC finally revealed Game World Stalker 2 during the Xbox Games Showcase. At the time, the game was announced for PC and Xbox Series X / Xbox Series S, but it was unclear whether the game would be console-exclusive to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. That said, it turns out it will be.

On Twitter, a developer at GSC Game World confirmed that the game is just coming to PC and Xbox Series X when asked by a fan wondering about a PS5 version of the game. At the moment, it is unclear whether this console exclusivity is permanent or timed. Third-party exclusives like this one are usually timed rather than permanent, but at this point in time, this detail of the exclusivity has not been outright confirmed.

While the developer has provided some concrete details about the platform, unfortunately they have not provided anything about a release date meaning the game still doesn’t have a release date. In fact, it doesn’t even have a release window at the moment.

While PS5 may not get Stalker 2, at least not at launch, it does have its own big exclusives in the pipeline, and by most measurements, the better range of exclusive titles, including Horizon Forbidden West, Final Fantasy 16, Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart, and a new one God of war. Compared to some of these titles, Stalker 2 may not seem very substantial, but the first game is not only a cult classic, but this is also a highly anticipated sequel and is more striking than many of the exclusive games coming out of Xbox Game Studios.
