Major stores close due to storm. Before you go, check – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Hundreds of local stores have closed as historic winter storm rainfall continues to hit North Texas. Many major retailers urge customers to check shop hours before heading out to stock up on supplies.

Monday afternoon, 424 Walmart stores in Texas and other states in the path of the brutal winter storm were closed, including dozens in North Texas.

All store closings can be found here on their interactive map.

“The safety of our employees and customers is our top priority. Walmart’s Emergency Operations Center monitors winter storms and other potential disasters in real time. We are reviewing the status of our facilities and will continue to operate as long as it is safe to do so,” the company said in a statement.

Kroger said on its website that stories from Dallas and the surrounding area would close at 8 p.m. Monday and planned to reopen late on Tuesday, but would remain open from 5 p.m. Monday night.

Closures can be found here on the company’s website.

Amazon also said on Monday that its deliveries were affected by the storm. Orders can be tracked as usual on www.amazon.com, but delays may be expected depending on the item and delivery location.

Other major retailers, including the Target and Albertsons stores, are scheduling adjusted opening hours depending on the storm’s trajectory and power outages.
