Macomb County opens new COVID-19 vaccination site on Monday

WARREN, me. – Macomb County is stepping up efforts to get more people vaccinated against COVID-19.

A new clinic opens Monday at the Southwest Health Center in Majestic Plaza, located on Van Dyke Avenue, just north of I-696 in Warren.

It is the fourth county-affiliated COVID vaccination site in Macomb County.

Other county sites include the Mass Vaccination Site at the Verkuilen Building in Clinton Township, the Richmond-Lenox EMS drive-through site, and the Sterling Heights Senior Center site.

County officials said the new Majestic Plaza location had been chosen to be as accessible as possible.

“That way it just makes it more convenient. The drive is less, it’s around the corner, it’s a licensed building that has stood and serves the community, ”said Andrew Cox, director of Macomb County Health Department. “I think it only made sense for us to get something on the south side.”

The clinic is not accessible for walk-ups and appointments must be made. You can make an appointment here on the Macomb County website.
