According to the News Star, elected representative Luke Letlow (R-La.) Has been hospitalized after a diagnosis of COVID-19.
Letlow announced on social media on Friday that he had tested positive for the coronavirus and was quarantined according to the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
“Thank you to everyone for your kind words and prayers,” he wrote. “I tested positive for COVID-19. I rest at home and follow all CDC guidelines, quarantine protocols, and my doctors’ recommendations.”

Letlow was hospitalized the next day out of an abundance of caution, according to the Louisiana newspaper.
“As a precaution and on the recommendation of his doctors, elected Congressman Luke Letlow (Saturday) is hospitalized for follow-up while being treated for COVID-19,” Andrew Bautsch, a Letlow spokesman, told the News Star. .
Bautsch has also contracted the disease.
Letlow won the Pelican State’s 5th district seat in the December 5 runoff race and will be sworn in in January.
The news of Letlow’s diagnosis comes days after two other Louisiana lawmakers and leaders tested positive for COVID-19.
