Not all heroes wear capes, so let’s salute Lizzo for what few are brave enough to do: slip into Chris Evans’ DMs.
The “Truth Hurts” singer, who has made it abundantly clear that Captain America is by far her favorite Hollywood Chris, revealed that she once drunk messaged the actor on Instagram.
Lizzo’s DM, which hilariously hit Evans’ inbox at 5:22 PM, featured three simple “💨🤾🏾♀️” “emojis, presumably to convey the message that you took your shot.
“Don’t drink and DM, kids … for legal porpoises this is a joke,” she wrote alongside a TikTok post shared on Saturday.
In the video, Lizzo syncs with a TikTok audio from Tatayanna Mitchell for her one-sided conversation with Evans. “The reason I’m angry about this is because I know I can’t marry him, and frankly it hurts me to the bone,” she said, leaning closer to the camera. “Because Daddy is a fucking rare breed, can’t be compared. Like, Chris … “
The “Avengers” star had yet to comment or even see Lizzo’s DM at the time of posting the video. But these two share a history of mutual admiration, so maybe Evans is just taking his time.
In 2019, the actor again shared a video of a young girl dancing to Lizzo’s hit song “Juice”, writing, “This boy is cooler than I could ever be.”
The Grammy-winning singer took a decidedly more direct approach in a follow-up tweet, writing to Evans, “Wow marry me” with a shrugging emoji.
Joking about their interaction at the MTV Movie Awards later that month, Lizzo said she was ‘going home’ after discovering that Evans was not present at the ceremony.
“Damn no,” she said when asked if Evans ever responded to her tweet. It’s Chris Evans. He is not responding. If he responded, I wouldn’t be here right now. I was supposed to be on a honeymoon. “
If Evans ever checks his DMs, it could be a budding power couple as both stars are seemingly single at this point.
He was last linked to British actor Lily James, while Lizzo made her relationship status abundantly clear with a cheeky Instagram last month.
