A nor’easter was on target to slam parts of the Mid-Atlantic states and New England from Wednesday, with heavy snow, high winds and some coastal flooding.
The storm has the potential to become the largest storm on the East Coast in years and is likely to bring snowfall of 1 to 2 inches per hour to the region, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
“There is high confidence that this major winter storm will have significant consequences, including travel disruptions and power outages in much of the Mid-Atlantic Ocean, southeastern New York and southern New England,” added the NWS.

According to AccuWeather, the nor’easter was expected to bring more snow than all combined last year in Washington, DC, Philadelphia, New York City and Boston.
Icy rain and ice build-ups were also expected for parts of North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
