Big techies are in the hot seat like never before – and one company that deserves a front row seat is Instagram … so says Lindsey Pelasaccusing them of discriminating against women.
We spoke to the mega influencer, model, and actress on social media – who makes a lot of her money online these days – and she tells us that IG seems to have it for women … but it’s easier for men, especially when it’s about on their body, and what they are allowed to post.
Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram media.
Check it out … Lindsey explains that this is all about censorship – another hot-button issue lately – and claims that IG’s policies are unfair to women in how much skin they can show off on the platform, while Insta is said to be much milder for men showing it all. Lindsey compares it to digital cherry picking … which she says often ends with guys who can run wild.
There’s another level here too … erections and vaginas. Listen to Lindsey – she says there is a difference in which products are and which are not on IG.
Anyway, back to her main point, which is this: The power these big tech companies have at their fingertips was shown in full this week with the drama of Robinhood. Funnily enough, LP says the saga isn’t much different from what’s happening in the camera app.
In short, she thinks someone should keep them in check for good – including maybe Congress … because these companies can literally make or break someone’s bank if they see fit.
