It takes a lot of work to become Wonder Woman, but luckily Diana from Themyscira started preparing quite early. Warner Bros. has the first three minutes of it Wonder Woman 1984, with a young Diana (Lilly Aspell) entering her first faux Amazon “Olympics” as her elder self prepares to save the world again.
Warner Bros. let fans pump for the simultaneous theatrical and HBO Max release from Wonder Woman 1984 by dividing the opening scene of Patty Jenkins’ long-delayed DC superhero movie.
The scene, narrated by an adult Diana Prince (Gal Gadot), focuses on her younger version getting ready to take part in a traditional Amazon sports competition. Surrounded by strong, powerful women who work wonders, young Diana exudes confidence and strength in her own ability … despite her small size compared to her fellow competitors.
Of course, only time will tell if Diana’s self-confidence will result in a victory over her fellow Amazons (though I suspect it will eventually become a lesson in humiliation and practice with perfection). However, judging by the few clips of Wonder Woman, we get to the end of the video, kicking her ass and takes names, it will not be forever for Diana to secure her place as a warrior for her people and the planet.
G / O Media can receive a commission
Wonder Woman 1984 arrives in theaters and on HBO Max December 25. Warner Bros. also intends to be entire 2021 film slate in the same way, a move that has led to severe criticism from people in the industry, including Dune director Denis Villeneuve.
