LG today announced the global rollout of its 2021 soundbar lineup, complete with AirPlay 2 support for wirelessly streaming audio from Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPad and Mac. The sound bars also support Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

All 2021 sound bars support both Dolby Atmos and DTS: X surround sound formats, while an “AI Room Calibration” function promises optimal sound in any environment, using spatial awareness technology to measure the size of a room and increase the audio output. settings of the soundbar accordingly. Many of the new models are also certified for Hi-Res Audio for lossless playback at 24-bit / 96 kHz.
The new line-up includes SP11RA, SP9YA, SP8YA, SP7Y and SPD7Y models, with more models to be added later this year. Availability begins this month in major markets in North America and Europe, but pricing has not been announced.
