Less than 100,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in Iowa to date

DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – Vaccines for the novel coronavirus have reached just over 85,000 people in Iowa so far, according to new state data released Monday.

According to data current as of Sunday, the Iowa Department of Public Health said 85,382 people had started their two-dose vaccination series. Of these, 5,652 people had completed their vaccination course.

The top five counties based on total doses administered to residents are Polk (12,656), Johnson (9,411), Linn (6,797), Scott (3,580) and Dubuque (3,073). Linn County has the highest number of people with a completed vaccine course at 1,416, followed by Polk (1,410), Johnson (749) and Dubuque (558) and Scott (422).
