Last week, a firmware update for LEGO Super Mario (yes, plastic bricks now have firmware, folks) caused the plumber in red to start shouting out his slimmer brother’s name. You didn’t have to be a Mensa candidate to understand a Luigi set was on the way, but a listing on Amazon China has now revealed everything (thanks, Nintendo Everything).
As noted by LEGO site The Brick Fan, LEGO Super Mario Adventures with Luigi (set number 71387) features a Luigi in lilies very similar to the interactive talking Mario figure, with Bluetooth connectivity and small screens that allow his eyes and mouth to animate and interact with different pieces and enemies in the different sets.
The new set includes several figures – including a cute pink Yoshi – and works with all existing LEGO Super Mario sets. As per the listing, this LEGO Luigi set is due out on July 9, so we’ll be looking for offers in the West and more information in the coming days and weeks.
