LeBron James removes tweet about Ma’Khia Bryant police shootings

NBA star LeBron James targeted the Ohio police officer who shot Ma’Khia Bryant and said, “YOU’RE THE NEXT” in a since deleted tweet.

The hoop star from around the world posted the message to Twitter with a photo of Columbus Police Officer Nicholas Reardon, identified as the cop who shot the 16-year-old in a domestic dispute in the city of Ohio on Tuesday.

“YOU’RE THE NEXT,” he wrote, followed by a drawing of an hourglass. “#ACCOUNTABILITY,” Fox News reported Wednesday.

James later deleted it, and added as a follow up: “Anger does each of us some good and that includes myself! Gathering all the facts and education do! My anger is still there about what happened to that little girl. My sympathy for her family and may justice prevail! “

The targeted tweet came after a Minneapolis jury on Tuesday convicted ex-cop Derek Chauvin of murder and manslaughter in police custody death of George Floyd.

“LIABILITY”, James, a longtime vocal advocate of Black Lives Matter and has spoken out on racial justice issues, tweeted after the verdict.

Ohio authorities said on Wednesday that Reardon was the officer who shot Bryant, and said state investigators are now investigating the incident.

Police bodycam footage released by Columbus officials shows Bryant dealing with two other girls, and looting at one of them with what looks like a knife in her hand.

That’s when Reardon is seen firing four bullets, dropping the teenager to the ground, mortally wounded. She later died in a local hospital.
