LeBron James leaves Atlanta Hawks game with an injury

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James had to leave Saturday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks with an injury.

James, one of the MVP nominees this season, injured his right ankle in action in the second set.

The 36-year-old forward averaged 25.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and 8 assists per game prior to the game against the Hawks. All-star power forward Anthony Davis has also been eliminated with an injury.

James’s injury came after colliding with Solomon Hill. Frustrated, he turned a chair toward the locker room.

James immediately screamed in pain, clutching his right leg. The Lakers called time out to verify the 18-year-old veteran, with several teammates, coaches and medical personnel walking past the court to encircle James.

James got up on his own and limped back to the couch.

LA called for another timeout shortly after, and James withdrew from the game for good with 10:04 remaining in the second quarter, trailing the Lakers 34-30.

The Lakers will play against the Phoenix Suns next Sunday.
