Riot Games has thrown out some details about what League Of Legends players can expect in 2021. The big ticket is that there are four new champions coming year round, starting this month with the Ruined King himself. Along the line, three other new champions will also join the game, although their identities are still a little secret.
Riot says Viego the Ruined King, a jungler champion, will be the first to arrive later this month. They also revealed his skills and he sounds, as I suppose royalties are common, quite possessive. Viego’s ‘Sovereign’s Domination’ ability temporarily controls an enemy champion he helped kill, giving him access to their items and abilities.
He also has a camouflage Black Mist that you can see in the flashy movie Riot released to announce his arrival. You can see him actually wielding that Blade of the Ruined King in a snippet of Riot’s reveal video above.
After Viego, Riot refers to the three other new champions coming this year that are part of his story: a magical damage fighter with a sewing-themed sort, an artillery mage, and a sniper. They fill out the other League roles so no matter how you play, you should have a new champion to try out this year.
As for the update, they’ve shared a bit more about their work on improving the looks and skills of Dr. Mundo. If you want a vote on which champion will be tinkered with next year, you can vote on that in your League client until January 19. You can vote for Udyr, Shyvana, Nocturne, Skarner or Quinn.
If you’d like to study the King’s equipment before he comes along, you can find the details on Riot’s site.
