Lawyer says Argenis Contreras revealed politicians involved in OMSA corruption

The fourth national district investigating judge re-filed the preliminary hearing against Argenis Contreras, the main defendant in the October 2017 death of attorney Yuniol Ramírez, on May 17.

Judge Yanibet Rivas resubmitted the hearing for that day at 10 a.m.

Plutarco Jáquez, Argenis’s lawyer, said the court had granted two requests for postponement; one was for the prosecution to deliver some evidence and another for the lawyers to meet the suspects in Najayo prison and the court accepted both requests.

Argenis works together

According to the lawyer, Argenis Contreras has been working with the authorities since he was deported from the United States and “43 days ago, he told the Public Prosecution Service all PLD officials involved in OMSA corruption and there are people who should be detained and they are happy and healthy ”.

The death of Professor Yuniol Ramírez exposed the corruption that raged in OMSA, for which the former OMSA director, Manuel Rivas, and the former financial director, Faustino Rosario Díaz, were brought to trial.

While for the death of Ramírez, a lawsuit was brought against José Antonio Mercado Blanco, Jorge Luis Abreu Fabián, Heidy Carolina Peña, Lilian Francisca Suárez Jáquez and Víctor Elisander Ravelo Campos.
