The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) reported that the investigation into the case of Kimberly Taveras, former youth minister, continues this week with a subpoena to her ex-husband.
In a press release pointing to an investigation into corruption involving former Treasury Secretary Donald Guerrero Ortiz and former reserve bank general administrator Simón Lizardo Mézquita, the agency indicates that the prosecution directorate and the special prosecutor’s office on Administrative Corruption (Pepca), this week will question Carlos Ventura, the ex-husband of Taveras.
The day and time when Kimberly’s ex-husband will be interviewed is still unknown.
“For this week, the Prosecution Board and Pepca will continue to question various Court officials. Juan Carlos Ventura, who is under investigation in the corruption case against his ex-wife Kimberly Taveras Duarte, former Minister of Youth, will also be questioned, ”the PGR said in a press release.
Last December, after obtaining a permit to have her assets investigated, Kimberly Taveras Duarte reported that she was stepping down as Minister of Youth.
The now former minister has made it clear that she can show the country how she acquired all of her assets, at her young age, which amount to RD $ 74 million.
