Latest on Tom Brady knee injury

When it was revealed in February that Tom Brady underwent knee surgery for an injury that would keep him offside from team activities until at least June, understandably raising some eyebrows.

Either way, a 43-year-old quarterback who gets knee surgery that will knock him out for a few months is important. Fortunately, it sounds like everything is going well with Brady’s recovery.I spoke to him last week,Bucs GM Jason Light said, via Jenna Laine of ESPN.com.I know I’m fine. I don’t want to put an exact timeline on it now because I somehow don’t want to set expectations but I know it’s going really well

The injury was apparently not off the left field for the team either, and the procedure had been planned for a while. Brady had been planning to have the surgery for months, and the news was “no surprise” to the Bucs, a source told Laine.

Licht also called it a “minor surgery,” although it can’t really be as minor as Bruce Arians said in February that he was hopeful Brady could do some 7-on-7 work in June. Obviously if there’s anyone out there who doesn’t need a lot of off-season time it’s Brady, but this will still be something to keep an eye out for as the timeless wonder turns 44 in August.
