Lady Gaga and Adam Driver pose in ‘House of Gucci’ shot

Lady Gaga set the internet on fire Tuesday after posting a photo of the set of the upcoming Ridley Scott movie, “House of Gucci.”

The photo not only whetted the appetite for the upcoming production, but also sparked the imagination on social media thanks to the retro outfits worn by the singer and her co-star Adam Driver, who are Patrizia Reggiani and her fashion mogul ex-husband respectively. Play Maurizio Gucci.

Based on the novel ‘The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamor and Greed’, the crime film is about the famous family dynasty and tells about the downfall of Reggiani, who was convicted of plotting the murder of Gucci . . The fashion boss was gunned down outside his Milan office in 1995, while his ex-wife was sentenced to 29 years in prison for orchestrating the murder.

Wearing a white fur hat and draped in gold jewelry, Gaga bears a striking resemblance to the Italian socialite. She simply captioned the picture ‘Signore e Signora Gucci’ or ‘Mr. and Mrs. Gucci’.

The driver, meanwhile, is depicted in a cream-white cable sweater and oversized glasses, with a white jacket around his waist. Although there are several behind the scenes photos from the actor in costume who appeared online earlier this week, it’s the first close-up of Driver’s turn as the late Gucci, grandson of his namesake founder Guccio Gucci.
Social media users quickly made memes from the viral photo, comparing Driver’s sweater on the one worn by Chris Evans in “Knives Out,” overlaying the pair on “Star Wars” backgrounds and of course, record an image of Bernie Sanders in his inauguration mitts.
Others joked about the 80s couple’s style and après-ski chic. “Strong of course, you can use the energy of the hot tub”, tweeted comedian Kath Barbadoro. Meanwhile, actress Kiernan Shipka wrote “Nothing could prepare me for this photo,” in response to the Instagram post.

The movie, currently being filmed in Italy, will be released in November and will also feature Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons and Jared Leto.

Gaga’s last major on-screen role was in “A Star Is Born” in which she won an Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Best Actress Oscar nomination.
