As has been the case for several Wednesdays now, a new gameplay trailer has been released for King of Fighters 15. This time around, we’re going to take a closer look at what Kyo Kusanagi will look like and play in SNK’s upcoming 3v3 fighting game.
Based on the trailer, it looks like the rivalry between Kyo and Iori is as strong as ever. While some fans speculate that Kyo and Iori might team up in King of Fighters 15, Kyo’s team was not revealed at the end of the trailer, as with Benimaru, Shun’ei, and Meitenkun – Team Hero.
Kyo has been one of the main protagonists of King of Fighters since the series’ debut. He is the heir to the Kusanagi clan, one of three clans responsible for sealing the legendary serpent entity, Orochi.
Like Iori, Kyo has access to pyrokinetic abilities that amplify his attacks with fire as he fights. These abilities do not give him or Iori immunity from fire.
When Yuichiro Hiraki first designed Kyo, it was intended to be a contrast to Street Fighter’s Ryu. As such, this means that Kyo dislikes training and is strong because of natural talent.
