Kushida is your new WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion.
At tonight’s NXT Tuesday night premiere, Kushida Santos defeated Escobar in a solid back and forth match to become the new champion.
This is Kushida’s first title reign in WWE. Escobar just unified the Cruiserweight titles at “Takeover: Stand and Deliver” Night Two last Thursday by beating Jordan Devlin in a Ladder Match to become the undisputed NXT Cruiserweight Champion. WWE now refers to Kushida as the NXT Cruiserweight Champion only. Escobar has been the champion since winning the final of an eight-man tournament on the NXT show on June 3, 2020.
