
On the last episode of The Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic gold medalist spoke about seeing Brock Lesnar on his amateur wrestling days before taking an interest in WWE.
“I followed Brock in college, I thought he was a dominant heavyweight,” Angle said. “I think he only lost twice in his senior year in college and he was very talented. One of the most dominant heavyweights in history, he had an outstanding career.
“You don’t know if you can get close to wrestlers, many of them reject professional wrestling. I didn’t get close to Brock because they told me Jerry Brisco was contacting him and Jerry was going to travel to amateur wrestling events and try to recruit athletes for WWE and he’s the one who really brought Brock, ”he said.
Speaking of the most technical fighters in the company’s history, Angle said who is No. 1 to him.
Daniel Bryan without a doubt. That guy’s a technical master. I love his job, wish I had fought with it. He is one of the best in the ring today and I think of all time. Even though it’s a bit smaller, it makes up for the work ethic. What he can do in the ring is just unbelievable.
