Kris Bryant could be from Cubs ‘this week’

For a few months, it was announced that the Chicago Cubs would attempt to change Kris Bryant for the 2021 MLB season. This news had varying “hues,” because while some assured the decision was imminent, others reported that it had already been abandoned. However, the latest reports say so Kris Bryant could be out of the Cubs “this week”.

SNY journalist Andy Martino reported Saturday, January 9 that Chicago Cubs will be trading Kris Bryant “as soon as possible this week.” It has been speculated that the fate of the third baseman would be the Mets, but it seems everything has changed.

Multiple sources reported this week that the Cubs and Mets had had recent talks about the Bryant trade. However, Martino adds that the two sides have not spoken for “several weeks” and those talks took place before the Mets took over Francisco Lindor.

Despite his quality and being considered a ‘top player’, Kris Bryant hasn’t been tied to any specific team of late. Although Martino stated that other organizations are extremely interested in him, even more than the Metropolitans.

Kris Bryant made his MLB debut with the Chicago Cubs in 2015. In his tenure with the team, he has hit .280, hit 142 home runs and produced 414 runs. The third baseman was an important part of the 2016 Cubs World Series Championship.
